As an immigrant coming to USA as a 17 year old I can somewhat relate to this story. But mine isn’t as close to Nick. Tough times never last, but tough people do. When you face difficult times, you have to know that they aren’t there to destroy you , but to promote, increase and strengthen you. Salute to you Nick, I am beyond proud to be working with you !

What resourcefulness! What a terrific story!

Not many kids would save all that chocolate to bring home to their famiily - an inspiration!

It feels like from another era, no? I think the salient feature here is Nick's strength of spirit, his natural energy. Not all kids are born with this personality quotient. I think the tightness of family also helped him push on, his family depended on him, they depended on one another.

This interview was cinematic - his life should be made into a movie.

The way he was raised and grew up, I'm afraid those virtues of humility and manners aren't being passed down to the next generation. Thank you so much Marlena for sharing his story

I can see the family pulling apart the bread of many colors, also the young man serving and busing at parties unable to communicate easily in English. And the terrible heartbreak of one of his partners leaving him with an empty salon—not a single client.
